Jorge Luis Borges, in The Aleph and Other Stories

“I feared that there would not be a single thing left capable of surprising me. Happily, after a few sleepless nights, forgetfulness worked on me again.”

A NEW CONCEPT

Inspired by old traveling shows, Helder Guimarães developed a new performance concept: an immersive experience in your space. Remember and Forget uses the natural conditions set up by the host in his living room, library, workspace, or any other room and creates a new world of possibilities uniquely and freshly.

Conceptually inspired by The Aleph, the Jorge Luis Borges short tale, this explores what is meaningful to us and the importance of dreams and memory in shaping who we are.

FIRST STEPS

To host Remember and Forget, you must provide the space and a combination of chairs and/or stools to accommodate your guests. Below, we explain the two-step process we need to verify before booking this experience.

  • We must understand if this performance can happen in the intended space. In order to verify that, we need photos/videos of the location, the number of attendees, and the desired layout. With this information, we can confirm if Remember and Forget can be performed at your space.

    Two notes:

    • The selected space should have doors that can be closed during the setup, the performance, and after the performance.

    • Helder will need the space empty a few hours before the performance to prepare all the technical aspects of the performance, as well as after to retrieve the equipment.

  • Remember and Forget is designed for a crowd between 10 and 50 people. The room should be big enough to accommodate the desired number of people in one of the following layouts:

    • A rectangular table with rows of chairs and stools set up in a semicircular layout;

    • A round table with rows of chairs and stools set up in a circular layout.

    Once we know more about the size of the crowd that will attend Remember and Forget, we will provide some specific guidelines so everyone is extremely close to the action.

    Helder will then plan the performance for your specific location and decide which equipment (lights, sound, staging elements) to bring in order to create the ideal environment for this performance in your own room.

    NOTE: Standing room is allowed and encouraged. We want to ensure people are as close to the action as possible. Nevertheless, the performance is 1 hour and 20 minutes long.

Are you thinking of a different configuration, or do you have more guests?
E-mail us the details, and we will try to find a solution.
