Just like the majority of situations in life, money can also be seen as an illusion. How much we make, how much we spend and how we really value things is an interesting subject with an infinite scope. In exploring this for a different project, I found Dan Ariely and Jeff Kreisler’s Dollars and Sense an extremely insightful view on this matter. This small excerpt makes a good point on why certain things shouldn’t be compared to others and how some decisions should be made. Does that mean people will do this as they should? Probably not, depending on the person and the situation. Still, it’s interesting to analyze how simple it can be if we look at a situation and what is important in a rational way.
