Maybe not a familiar name to many, Laszlo Polgar is a Hungarian chess teacher. While studying in University, he realized something that he believed most genius had in common: they all immersed themselves in a specific subject at a very young age. He believed that a genius was not born but could be educated to become one. He had three daughters, known as the Polgar Sisters, whom he raised all to be chess prodigies, proving his ideas. Two of them became the best and second best women chess players in the world, respectively. He has written well-known chess books and is also considered a pioneer theorist in parenting. To get an insight into some of his knowledge, here is a TED Talk from one of his daughters, Judit Polgar.
